Rain total exceeded 16 inches in my back yard. Could be more because when I dumped it in the morning, it had already reached the top.
School resumes tomorrow. This is a good thing.
Both mornings I had the opportunity to have coffee with a friend downtown when it first opened. I think I could enjoy doing that on a daily basis with friends. Or near 'bout daily.
I have a hurt foot and I don't know why.
Tonight's menu - collard soup with kielbasa and cornbread. YUM YUM YUM.
Somewhere down in the Caribbean is Hurricane Gustav. We want no repeats, please.
The sun is shining. The first time in almost a week. Thank you.
mmm that soup sounds good, and I love cornbread. Corn meal is hard to find here though so it is a rare treat!

Glad the rain has stopped. . .and watching Gustav right along with you. I hate how the hype starts so early.

Okay...after talking to a good friend at the Red Cross Office (he's the Safety and Preparedness Director for the region), we are now in full Gustav-possible category 4-storm alert. Any tips?

Rain: always either too much, or not enough.
Keeping our eyes on Gustav...here we go again.

Love the idea of your soup! I've never heard of collards in soup!
Glad you are seeing sunshine. Sorry about the rain!
Blessings to you in the new school year! May it be the best ever!

Hi Cathy -- I wish you were sitting where I am, out of range of Gustave -- and listening to the young people of Ensemble de la Rue preparing Saturday night's concert, "The Full Monty" -- that would be as in "Monty-verdi"....it is MOST TOOTHSOME!!!
