Cheesehead and Reverend Mother are both laid up this week with various tooth maladies. This one's in honor of them:
1. Are you a regular patron of dentists' offices? Or, do you go
a) faithfully, as long as you have insurance, or
b) every few years or so, whether you need it or not, or
c) dentist? what is this "dentist" thing you speak of?
I go when I need to go - sometimes I get faithful, but basically I had a dentist as a child that did too much dental work at one time and kept telling me it didn't hurt and after that it was a long time before I would watch a toothpaste commercial or look at his dental office when I walked by it from school.
2. Whatever became of your wisdom teeth?
Two are in - the other two are hiding in my lower jaw. The dentist would like to have them. I'm 51 and keeping them still.
3. Favorite thing to eat that's BAAAAAD for your teeth.
ICE.
4. Ever had oral surgery? Commiserate with me.
Is a root canal oral surgery? If so, then yes. Yeah, it's a pain to have them done since they poke around too much in your mouth.
5. "I'd rather have a root canal than _________________."
Actually, the root canals I have had did not hurt per se (except the one where I had an extra canal they didn't know about, but that is another story). I guess if it were between saving the tooth or doing a root canal I would take the root canal. But root canals are a temporary inconvenience/violation of the mouth. I can think of worse things, like illnesses.
Bonus: Does your dentist recommend Trident?
I have no idea if the dentist does or not, but I don't like gum... period...
Childhood trauma and dentists seems to be a recurring theme- as for root canals- I'd rather not think about these things... need chocolate for comfort!!! :-)

Why don't you like gum? Does it make your jaw hurt? It does that to me. Wimpy jaw!
