Wondrous Love
Today, I walked into the church and the airconditioning was ON. Yes, it's December and it was muggy and hot. This afternoon, it was rainy and messy, which means we are in for some cold weather. Crazy weather we have here in the deep south!
We sang Christmas hymns and one of the hymns we sung that we sing throughout the year is "Wondrous Love" - I found a video of the hymn, pretty close to the style of shape note singing with bluegrass thrown in for good measure. Please note, we did not sound like this! Close your eyes and listen to this hymn - I found it moving and I hope you do too.
Update: Mompriest mentioned in the comments it sounded familiar - well, in checking, it was featured on Revgalblogpals for a Sunday Video, so YES, it might sound familiar to some of you.

I've seen this before...not sure where? Really wonderful!

I've heard it done before, which of course should be no surprise given that I am a product of rural Louisiana upbringing and gospelly sounding music is a part of my heritage (though sometimes I hesitate to admit that)!
I think maybe the song is actually an old spiritual song.
I liked it! Beautiful. Thanks for sharing it.

I love this, too.
Hot there? We got rain finally. Slightly cooler but not too much. I haven't turned on the heat as yet.
